With record sales this year and in only in six months, Chevrolet, GM’s biggest and most sold brand, has announced their best sales performance in a century.

The gigantic manufacturer is reporting an astonishing sale of 2.35 million cars nationwide and abroad. Top sales models are Chevrolet Cruze and Chevy Sonic, which will be available in the US only next month.

One of the characteristics that have boosted GM’s auto sales, is that most of their brands have made a great effort to launch fuel efficient cars, key factor in the actual new car buying process. Chevy Cruze even knocked out Toyota Camry’s top selling spot for the past 10 years. Last month, 24.896 units were sold only in the United States. During the whole year, Cruze has sold about 330,000 models, resulting in a 132% increase over 2010, when it was first released.
