It is also packed with a sport suspension, luxury rims and a new grille. The starting price for this one is $44,145. It will be available to buy this Fall.
    BMW X1: Making its entrance in the country after it was released in Europe already four years ago. This version is shorter and narrower than the X3. The base model has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder with 240 horsepower and an estimated 27 mpg in combined city and highway driving. Buyers get to choose if they want to upgrade to a 3.0-liter V-6 with all-wheel-drive that gets 300 horsepower and 25 mpg. It will also be available this Fall and the price starts at $31,545.

There are no changes made to the engine, it will remain a 381 horsepower, 5.7-liter V8 engine, that does around 18 mpg on the highway.
    Toyota Rav4 EV: This new model will be the first all electric 5 seat SUV out there. It is expected to drive about 100 miles on one single charge. The drive system and the battery come from Tesla Motors, a known maker of high-end electric cars. The price starts $49,800, which doubles the price of the gas version. However, the EV version will be eligible for $7,500 federal tax credit. As usual, these models will be only sold to certain markets and offered in only a few states. They will first be sold in California.

Volkswagen has recently announced official sale dates for two of their latest models: the 2013 Jetta Hybrid and 2013 Beetle Convertible.

According to this manufacturer, the most important release this year will the their second hybrid vehicle, The Jetta Hybrid. This vehicle comes with a turbocharged 1.4-liter I-4 rated at 150 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque mated to a 27-hp electric motor that draws power from a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The Powertrain sends its power to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. It is estimated that the Hybrid can achieve up to 45 mpg. Expected to be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show this coming November is the 2013 Beetle Convertible. Powertrain options will vary from a 170-hp 2.5-liter I-5, a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4, or a 140-hp 2.0-liter turbodiesel I-4 that is rated for 41 mpg on the highway. Customers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual or a DSG dual-clutch transmission.
