Sales the first two months of 2014 have been very slow for automakers in the U.S. During this time of the year, the trucks rule the top ten lists. And as expected, the Ford F-Series truck line sold the highest number of vehicles at 55,882. Chevrolet’s Silverado truck series finished a distant second, with 36,584 units sold in February. These two trucks are also number one and number two in total units sold in 2014.
Nissan’s Altima finished third in the February top 10 list with 30,849 units sold. That is an 8.5% increase from year-to-date numbers in 2013, the third highest increase of any of the vehicles and the largest increase of the top 3. The Altima is also the highest selling sedan YTD.
Dodge’s Ram Pickup finished fourth on the list with 29,303 vehicles sold in February. Dodge’s signature pickup is up 25.8% over last year’s numbers thus far, making it the largest increase in units sold in the top ten. Year to date, the Ram is the third best-selling vehicle in the top ten list.
Toyota’s Camry rounds out the top five with 28,998 units sold. The Camry is down 7.3% over last February and down 17.7% YTD in 2013, meaning you might see some price decreases to increase sales.
